General Evaluator
Your responsibility is to evaluate those who have not been evaluated. Your job is to help the participants to improve their skills. Give positive and constructive evaluation.
THE GENERAL MEETING
- Preparation and timeliness of the meeting.
- Theme and tone of the meeting.
- The atmosphere: was it warm, friendly and fun?
CHAIRMAN
- How many guests greeted?
- How was the business session run?
- Introductions made by the Chairman and general conduct and control of the meeting by the Chairman.
TABLE TOPICS MASTER
- Explanation of the topics. Were they obscure or clear?
- The topics themselves. Were they suitable? Did they have people thinking and generate discussion?
- Were the topics in line with the theme?
- Did the Topic Master command the stage and encourage members to talk?
TABLE TOPICS EVALUATORS
- Was evaluation both positive and constructive?
- Did Evaluator give Speaker something to build on?
- Did Evaluator maintain time?
TOASTMASTER
- Was preparation evident?
- Were introductions warm and friendly?
- Were introductions done in such a way to make the audience receptive to the speakers?
- Was the TOAST suitable and in keeping with the theme of the meeting?
- Expertise in bridging between speakers?
SPEECH EVALUATORS
- Did Evaluator give the objective of the speech?
- Was evaluation clear, positive and constructive?
- Did the evaluation give the speaker something to build on?
OPENING MESSAGE
- Was it appropriate, uplifting and positive?
- Was it brief and well prepared?
- Did the words have personal meaning to the speaker?
GRAMMARIAN
- Was the function of the Grammarian explained?
- Was a Word of the Day presented? Was it explained and pronounced clearly?
- Report: Were grammatical errors pointed out?
- Usage of good English?
AH COUNTER
- Was the FINE system explained?
- How diligent was the Ah Counter in counting the "crutch" sounds?
JOKEMASTER
- Was it suitable for a Toastmaster's meeting?
- Was it told well with good body language?
- Punchline?
FINALLY
- Was there any aspect of the meeting that you felt was particularly good?
- How were guests greeted? Were they made to feel welcome?
- Was there a feeling of camaraderie during the break?
- Adherence to times, mood and quality of the meeting.
- CLOSE with a comment on your overall impression of the meeting.
- ALWAYS END ON A POSITIVE NOTE.
