As the President of Rich-Del Toastmasters for 2003-2004, it is a real honor to help lead our Club for this coming year into what I see as super growth for us. Since we have relocated to our new home at Richmond City Hall we have had the pleasure of many people from all walks of life join us in wanting to become better communicators in our society. It truly has been rewarding in learning the skills to be not only a better communicator but also an effective leader. With all the various roles that one gets to perform in this most friendly atmosphere of really diversified toastmasters, the benefits are truly enormous when putting these lessons to learn in real life.
I highly recommend, that no matter where one is in their life regards to speaking skills , Toastmasters truly offers a real challenge to helping each and everyone of us to become the Best we can Be.
Over the years I have had the pleasure of working with various companies and owning my own business. For the last 25 yrs. I have been employed with the Richmond School District as their Head Storekeeper. However, my greatest joy came when my wife (Dar) and I joined a Home Base Business called Nikken 8 years ago. In building our organization which has now spread over into 8 countries creating many challenges. With both of us knowing that we needed to not only master our speaking skills but also our leadership skills, a very good friend of ours suggested Toastmasters.
Since, Marty Jeffery was already a very polished speaker and successful business person, I took up his suggestion and I'm very pleased that I did. I always look forward to our meetings because I know that every time I get to learn either as a speaker, evaluator or as a great listener.
